ALEJANDRA LEYNEZ CHANTRES
Alejandra is a proud Bay Area native and a dedicated public policy professional. As a first-generation immigrant, she leverages her lived experiences to inform and advance equity in public policy, with a focus on health care and immigration issues. Alejandra brings over five years of experience in policymaking and public affairs to the Mayor’s team. Prior to joining the City, Alejandra worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for two senior Members of the California Delegation. She staffed prestigious committees, the Committee on Appropriations and Committee on Ways and Means, and worked with the Biden Administration to advance the U.S. Citizenship Act. She is excited to tackle public policy efforts at the local level, an opportunity to give back to the communities that raised her.
Alejandra graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Public Health. She currently resides in Santa Clara County and enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with family.
