MICHAEL LOMIO

Michael is an avid people and public policy enthusiast. His career in Silicon Valley began on the Silicon Valley Leadership Group's government relations team. He spent three years at the Leadership Group, where he oversaw and advised on the organization's government relations efforts at the local, state, and federal levels of government. After his time at the Leadership Group, he joined the Office of San José City Councilmember Pam Foley where he worked on land use, housing, cannabis, tobacco, and regional transportation policy items. He also served as Councilmember Foley's press secretary and communications lead. 

Michael then joined San José Mayor Sam Liccardo's administration in the first half of 2022 as the Mayor's Land Use & Economic Development Policy Advisor. He was thrilled to join the Matt Mahan Administration at the beginning of 2023. In his spare time, Michael serves as the Vice President of the Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee, which is a four-county lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender organization working to advance LGBTQ+ rights and is the former Chair of the Santa Clara Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Elections where he supported the expansion of voting rights throughout Santa Clara County.
