Tara is a Neighborhood Outreach coordinator, helping lead work in District 7 and with the Vietnamese community. Tara was born and raised in Vietnam, she escaped her homeland by boat at the young age of 17. Undeterred by the challenges she faced, she went on to pursue higher education and graduated from UCD with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Statistics. Tara has a background in small businesses as a restauranteur and is a leader with the San Jose Vietnamese Running Club, a non-profit organization that raises funds for OneMile4OneChild to benefit less fortunate children in Vietnam. Tara is passionate about helping others and giving back to her community. Tara is a dedicated mother of two. Throughout her life, she has remained committed to pursuing her passions and helping others achieve their goals.
